Dhaka, May 22 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday walked from his residence to the BNP Chairman's office at Gulshan to attend a programme.

Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said Tarique Rahman came to the office on foot after offering Asr prayers at home.

He said the Prime Minister joined a programme attended by administrators and mayors of city corporations from across the country.

The programme was organised to hand over Eid gift cheques for city corporation conservancy workers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Earlier, before Eid-ul-Fitr this year, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman provided Eid gifts worth Tk 5,000 each to conservancy workers of city corporations.
