Dhaka, Sept. 1 -- BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday planted a tree at Zia Udyan and released fish into Crescent Lake at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital as part of programmes marking the party's 48th founding anniversary.

Tarique planted the tree and released fish shortly after paying homage to the graves of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and former chairperson Khaleda Zia by placing wreaths there around 9:20am.

BNP Standing Committee members, Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee and Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku were, among others, present.
