Dhaka, July 15 -- Indian National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval on Wednesday met Brigadier General ( Retd.) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, Defence Adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC NSAs meeting.

Bangladesh, the current chair of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), is participating in the BIMSTEC National Security Advisers' meeting in New Delhi.

Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brig. Gen. (Retd.) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam is representing Bangladesh at the meeting.

The fifth BIMSTEC National Security Advisers' Meeting is being hosted by India and is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on July 16, a senior official told UNB.
