Dhaka, Sept. 29 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban.

It was the first meeting between the President and the Prime Minister at Bangabhaban since Mirza Fakhrul assumed office as President.

The Prime Minister arrived at Bangabhaban around 3:00pm, when the President welcomed him.

Later, the President's military secretary, secretary, press secretary and other senior officials of his office were introduced to him, according to a press release issued by Bangabhaban.
