Kuala Lumpur, June 22 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday met Malaysia's King Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar following his official engagements with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Prime Minister's Adviser Mahdi Amin said the meeting took place at the royal palace after a luncheon hosted by the Malaysian Prime Minister in honour of his Bangladeshi counterpart.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister and the King exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Malaysia's Queen Raja Zarith Sofiah was also present at the meeting.
