, May 31 -- Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Sunday joined a discussion programme organised marking the 45th death anniversary of party founder and former President Ziaur Rahman.

The programme began through recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a munajat, in the afternoon at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium in the capital's Farmgate area.

A one-minute silence was also observed in memory of late President Ziaur Rahman.

BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is presiding over the discussion arranged by the party, where Tarique Rahman will speak as the chief guest.
