Jashore, April 27 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Jashore on Monday morning to inaugurate Ulashi Canal excavation project and attend various programmes, including a public rally and civic reception.

Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon said Tarique landed at Jashore Airport around 10:20 am on a domestic flight.

During the day-long visit, Tarique will inaugurate Ulashi Canal excavation project in Sharsha upazila and address a civic reception there.

Later, after offering Zuhr prayers and having lunch at the Jashore Circuit House, he will lay the foundation stone of Jashore Medical College Hospital and visit Jashore Institute Public Library.
