Dhaka, May 20 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday greeted the Bangladesh national cricket team for whitewashing Pakistan in the two-match Test series.

"The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt greetings and thanks to the players, coaching staff and all concerned of the Bangladesh team," reads a congratulatory message issued by the Prime Minister's Press Wing.

He hopes Bangladesh's success in international cricket will continue and inspire the younger generation to become more interested in sports.

Tarique Rahman also expressed hope that the Bangladesh team will continue to move forward on the world stage by maintaining unity, discipline and self-confidence.
