Dhaka, July 14 -- Bangladesh Parliament on Tuesday unanimously adopted a condolence motion expressing profound grief over the death of former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, describing him as one of the world's most visionary statesmen and the architect of modern Qatar.

Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni placed the condolence motion in the House, which was passed unanimously by voice vote after Deputy Speaker Kayser Kamal put it to vote.

Presenting the motion, the Chief Whip said Sheikh Hamad, who was one of the wisest and most visionary statesmen of the contemporary world, transformed Qatar into a rapidly developing, modern and prosperous nation through his visionary leadership.
