Cumilla, Sept. 29 -- Police recovered the body of a 40-year-old painter from beneath a lift in a Cumilla city building on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Kiron Mia, son of Sundar Ali of the Muradpur area.

Citing family members, Cumilla Kotwali Model Police Station OC Touhidul Anwar said on Tuesday Kiron had gone to the building on Monday morning for painting work but did not return home.

Family members searched for him throughout the day but could not find him.

In the evening, they began searching the building, located opposite KTCC near the Cumilla Sadar Upazila Parishad complex. During the search, they also inspected the lift.
