Savar, June 26 -- More than 200 leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP), led by its Dhaka North district youth wing convener Senjuti Hossain, joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at a programme in Savar on Friday.

Senjuti Hossain, who was introduced as a July movement activist and convener of the NCP's youth wing in Dhaka North, formally joined the BNP by presenting a bouquet to BNP central leader and lawmaker for the Dhaka-19 constituency, Dr Dewan Mohammad Salahuddin Babu.

A reception ceremony marking the joining was held at the residence of the BNP leader in the Bank Colony area of Savar.

Speaking at the event, Dr Salahuddin Babu welcomed Senjuti Hossain and the NCP leaders and activists into the BNP.
