Sylhet, June 14 -- and-a-half-month-old child has died with measles-like symptoms in Sylhet in the past 24 hours from 8:00am on Sunday, ending a three-day period during which no deaths were reported from measles or related complications in the division.

The child, a resident of Sunamganj Sadar upazila, died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital.

With the latest fatality, the total number of deaths linked to measles and measles-like symptoms in Sylhet division has risen to 69, according to the latest report of the divisional office of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the total casualties, four were confirmed as measles deaths, while the remaining 65 are suspected.
