Sangsad Bhaban, April 29 -- State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Md Nurul Haque Nur on Wednesday warned against attempts by "vested interests" to monopolise the narrative of the July Movement, drawing a parallel to how the history of the Liberation War was previously handled.

Speaking during the discussion on the thanksgiving motion on the President's speech in Parliament, Nur called for an end to the ongoing propaganda surrounding the movement.

"Certain groups are trying to hijack the narrative of the July Movement, much like what we saw with the history of our Liberation War," he said.
