Dhaka, Sept. 13 -- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman on Sunday said the government is not pursuing a policy of revenge and does not want to do so in the future.

"We have not become vengeful, nor do we want to be," he said while speaking at an exchange of views on law and order, corruption control, drug prevention, good governance and accountability at Satkhira Deputy Commissioner's office.

Responding to questions from journalists, the law minister said police were used to file politically motivated cases.

"There is not a single example of the police filing politically motivated cases after Aug 5," he said.
