Dhaka, March 17 -- Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam on Monday said there is no major challenge likely to disrupt security during the upcoming Eid travel, but authorities have been instructed to remain alert to ensure quality services for passengers.

He made the remarks while speaking to journalists during a visit to the Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the capital.

The minister said all preparations have been taken to ensure safe and smooth river journeys for homebound people ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Rabiul Alam currently holds responsibility for the Ministry of Shipping as well as the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Railways.
