Dhaka, May 7 -- Chittagong Customs House has initiated the auction of 220 containers of unreleased goods through an electronic process to reduce container congestion and enhance the operational capacity of Chittagong Port.
The move aims to ensure physical and financial security at the port while preventing the loss of state resources.
According to NBR officials, the auctions are being conducted under the digital E-Auction system to ensure transparency and accountability.
The auction process is divided into two phases based on National Board of Revenue (NBR) orders.
Under E-Auction-04/2026, a total of 160 containers across 120 lots will be sold. These include chemicals, machinery, paper, fabrics, household items, and AC parts.
