Dhaka, Oct. 19 -- National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam on Monday said the people are waiting to see the home minister's resignation, accusing him of failing to perform his duties.

He made the remarks while briefing the media after visiting the East Badda Nimtala Kali Temple on the occasion of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community.

"Today, the state minister for liberation war affairs was made to resign. But the home minister, who is primarily responsible for maintaining law and order, is not being held accountable in any way," Nahid said.

"The home minister is not doing what he is supposed to do. Instead, he is busy with the Constitution," he added.
