, March 1 -- A Narsingdi court on Sunday placed seven people, including the prime accused, on an eight-day remand in a case filed over the rape and murder of a teenage girl in Narsingdi district.

Narsingdi Judicial Magistrate Md Mehedi Hasan passed the order when police produced them before the court with ten-day remand prayer for each.

Earlier, Omar Kaiyum, the investigating officer of the case, produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.

Police arrested Nur Mohammad Nura, the prime accused in the case, from Mawna Intersection in Gazipur on Saturday.

Meanwhile, police also arrested Hazrat Ali, another accused in the case, from Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on the same day.
