Joypurhat, Oct. 12 -- year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a truck on the Joypurhat-Bogura regional highway in the Baniyapara area of Joypurhat Sadar upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased Mahir Wasif Mitul was the son of Anwar Hossain of Sahalapara village in Khetlal upazila of Joypurhat.

Witnesses said Mitul was riding his motorcycle from Khetlal towards Joypurhat when a truck heading towards Bogura collided head-on with his motorcycle around 10:00 pm, leaving Mitul dead on the spot.

Nur Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station, said police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to the morgue of the 400-bed Joypurhat General Hospital for an autopsy.
