Gazipur, Sept. 27 -- A woman and her son were killed and her daughter-in-law was critically injured after a speeding covered van ran over them in Tongi of Gazipur on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Ayesha Khatun, 45, and her son Yasin, 22. Yasin's wife Arzina, 19, sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The accident occurred near Station Road of Tongi Flyover in the afternoon.

Family members said the three were returning to their rented home in Nimtoli, Tongi, by bus after attending a wedding ceremony in Muktagacha of Mymensingh.

After getting off the bus at Station Road, they were standing on the footpath when a speeding covered van lost control and hit them.
