Dhaka, Oct. 24 -- Model, actress and television presenter Tulona Al Harun, a familiar face in Bangladesh's entertainment industry, died of cancer at a private hospital in Dhaka on Friday night. She was 39.

Her mother, Amena Begum, a lawyer at the Bangladesh Supreme Court, confirmed her death to the media.

Tulona was buried at the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard in Rayerbazar in the capital around noon on Saturday, her mother said.

According to family sources, a tumour was detected in Tulona's breast about six months ago. Following several medical tests, her treatment began at Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital in Dhaka before she was moved to another facility. She was later treated at a private hospital in Panthapath.
