Manikganj, June 21 -- Police recovered the dismembered body of a 14-year-old girl from a bush adjacent to a graveyard in the Chandannagar area in Singair upazila of Manikganj on Sunday, six days after she went missing.

The victim, Maria, was a Class-VIII student of Sahrail High School in Saista union of the upazila and daughter of expatriate Mizan of Lakshmipur Dewanbari area.

Police said the body was recovered around 4:30pm. Her school bag was also found nearby.

According to police and family sources, Maria went missing on June 15 after leaving her mobile phone at home. Her family searched different places but failed to trace her.
