Dhaka, March 15 -- Mirza Abbas, political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and a member of the BNP Standing Committee, was admitted to Singapore General Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

"The air ambulance safely reached Singapore after about three and a half hours of flight. From the airport, he was quickly taken to the General Hospital by ambulance," BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rafiqul Islam told UNB.

Dr Rafiqul said he spoke with the doctors there, who said Abbas was admitted to the Neuro ICU under the neurology department of the hospital.

"The doctors have already examined him. He did not face any difficulty during the three-and-a-half-hour journey. He is safe," he added.
