Milon regrets remarks on HSC examinees
Dhaka, July 14 -- Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Tuesday expressed regret for his personal remarks about the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees, saying he did not intend to hurt anyone.
He also announced that the government is considering retaking three examinations disrupted by heavy rain.
"I did not make any remarks with the intention of hurting anyone. If anyone has been hurt by my personal remarks, I simply express my regret," the minister said in Parliament.
He was responding to observations by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami MP Md Shafiqul Islam Masud, who referred to students' demand for postponing the examinations and said they were heading towards Parliament over the issue.
