Dhaka, April 24 -- A mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping across different parts of the country, including Dhaka, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In a bulletin issued on Friday morning, the BMD said the mild to moderate heatwave is currently affecting Khulna division and several districts, including Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Feni, Lakshmipur, Rangamati, Bandarban and Patuakhali, and it may continue.

It also said rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with isolated hailstorms.
