Dhaka, July 20 -- Bangladesh Bank Governor Md. Mostaqur Rahman on Monday stated that making 'Bangla QR' mandatory for financial transactions across the country will significantly reduce the risks of carrying cash while making payments faster, easier, and more secure.

Speaking as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the 'Bangla QR Reels Making Competition' at the central bank's headquarters, the governor emphasized that the universal QR system will relieve the public from the hassles of counterfeit and damaged currency notes.
