Gaibandha, June 29 -- year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband in Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district on Monday, over a decade after the same man killed his mother-in-law in a case in which the victim herself helped secure his release on bail.

The deceased was identified as Dulali Begum, wife of Biraj Mia of Sadar Colony village under Katabari union.

According to police and locals, an altercation broke out between the couple over a family dispute around 5:00pm.

At one stage, Biraj allegedly stabbed his wife in the chest with a sharp knife, leaving her dead on the spot.
