, March 19 -- A storm wreaked havoc on two villages in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district on Wednesday night, leaving an elderly man dead and causing widespread damages.

The deceased was identified as Akman Ali, 70,

He was killed after a wall collapsed on him during the storm, according to local sources.

Several others sustained minor injuries though the exact number could not be confirmed immediately.

At least 20 houses were partially or completely damaged, while many trees were uprooted and electric poles were affected, disrupting power supply in several areas.

On information, personnel from Alamdanga Fire Service and Civil Defence rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations, removing fallen trees and clearing roads....
