Kushtia, Aug. 6 -- A man in Kushtia's Khoksa upazila on Thursday handed over his teenage son to police after the boy has been accused of raping a five-year-old girl.

The accused, a Class-VIII madrasah student, was taken into custody after his father took him to Khoksa Police Station, claiming he tracked him down after the incident, said Officer-in-Charge Molla Zakir.

The alleged rape took place on Wednesday afternoon at Bosoa village under Shimulia union.

The child fell seriously ill after the incident and was first taken to Khoksa Upazila Health Complex before being shifted to Kushtia General Hospital for advanced treatment.
