, June 20 -- 52-year-old man died from electrocution while welcoming a groom at a wedding ceremony in Sadar upazila of Narail district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Nakul Mallik, son of Satish Chandra Mallik of Musuri village in the upazila.

Ajoy Kumar Kundu, Officer-in-Charge of Narail Sadar Police Station, said decorative lighting had been installed at the wedding venue on the occasion of the marriage ceremony of Nakul's niece at their house.

At one stage, Nakul died on the spot after coming in contact with a live electric wire used for decorative lighting while receiving the groom's party with sweets at the entrance gate around 8 pm.

Later, he was taken to Narail District Hospital where doctors declared him dead....
