, July 16 -- Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rains and thundershowers in parts of the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Thursday.

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi & Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country. Temperature: Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country," said a BMD bulletin.

Monsoon activity remains fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over the North Bay, it said.
