Dhaka, July 29 -- Litton Das has been appointed Bangladesh's new ODI captain, replacing Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the Bangladesh Cricket Board split the leadership of its red-ball and white-ball teams.

Litton, who already leads the T20I side, will now captain Bangladesh in both white-ball formats. Towhid Hridoy has been named ODI vice-captain, while Najmul Hossain Shanto will remain Test captain.

The decision was announced by BCB President Tamim Iqbal after a board meeting in Mirpur on Wednesday.

"We have decided to have two captains across the three formats," Tamim said. "We believe white-ball and red-ball cricket require different leadership, and the board supports that approach."
