Jhenaidah, May 16 -- A lawyer from Jhenaidah who suffered severe burn injuries while performing Puja at her home earlier this month died on Saturday while undergoing treatment in Dhaka.

Advocate Mita Saha, a lawyer at the Jhenaidah District Judge Court, died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

She was the wife of Shyamal Kumar Saha of KC College Para in Jhenaidah town.

Advocate Alauddin Azad said the incident occurred on the evening of May 7 while she was lighting Puja lamps at her house in Chaklapara. At one stage, a lamp containing oil accidentally fell on her body and caught fire, leaving her severely burned.
