Bagerhat, June 10 -- A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal was killed and a BNP leader injured in an attack by unidentified assailants in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Badal Morol, 40, president of Baruipara union unit of Krishak Dal in Sadar upazila.

Abdullah Morol, 42, president of ward-1 unit of BNP of the union, was seriously injured in the attack. He was currently undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
