JU suspends student over controversial July Uprising post, forms probe committee
JU, Aug. 6 -- Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have temporarily suspended an archaeology student over allegations of making derogatory comments on social media about the July 2024 mass uprising and maintaining links with a banned organisation.
The university also formed a five-member investigation committee to probe the allegations.
The decisions were announced in two separate office orders signed by Acting Registrar Dr ABM Azizur Rahman on Thursday.
According to the suspension order, Sharafat Sharik, a 54th batch (2024-25 academic session) student of the Department of Archaeology and a resident of Sher-e-Bangla A K Fazlul Huq Hall, was temporarily suspended under Section 4(1)(b) of the 'Jahangirnagar University Students' Disc...
