Dhaka, March 11 -- A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted bail to journalist Anis Alamgir in a graft and a money laundering case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Foyez passed the order.

Earlier, journalist Anis secured bail from the High Court in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Now there is no legal bar to his release from jail as he was not accused in any case, his lawyer Taslima Jahan said.

According to the prosecution, ACC filed the case on January 15 accusing Anis Alamgir of acquiring wealth beyond his known sources of income and money laundering.
