Japan's Marubeni eyes bigger Bangladesh bet as commerce minister pledges full support
, Oct. 12 -- Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir Sunday said the government is working to simplify business procedures, remove administrative hurdles and ensure an investor-friendly environment to attract foreign investment, stressing that expanded Japanese investment could open new avenues for industrialisation, technology transfer and job creation.
"The government will extend the necessary policy and institutional support to further strengthen economic partnership with Japan," the minister said at a meeting with a delegation led by Masayuki Omoto, president and CEO of Japanese multinational Marubeni Corporation, at the Ministry of Commerce.
