Jamaat leader accused of building house on khas land in Kushtia
Dhaka, Oct. 5 -- storey concrete house is being constructed on land classified as government-owned (khas land) in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia allegedly by a local Jamaat-e-Islami leader.
Md Abu Taleb Hossain, ameer of Char-Sadipur Union Jamaat and a chairman candidate for the upcoming union parishad election, is allegedly constructing the house on around 2.82 acres of land in Gobindapur Mouza of the union.
According to local residents and land administration officials, the property is recorded under Khatian No. 1 and RS Plot No. 68 and is classified as Schedule-Kha government land.
Locals estimate the market value of the land at around Tk 6 crore.
