Dhaka, July 26 -- e-Islami on Sunday urged the government and relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to resolve the ongoing gas crisis and provide relief to people suffering from the shortage.

In a statement, the party's Assistant Secretary General Advocate Zubair said people across the country are facing an acute shortage of LPG and CNG gas, which are essential commodities.

He expressed deep concern over widespread disruptions to daily cooking, CNG-powered transport services and industrial production due to the crisis.

He also said long queues of vehicles have been seen at CNG stations in the capital because of the severe gas shortage.
