IU teacher dismissed for unauthorised absence
Islamic University, Sept. 19 -- The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia have dismissed one of its professors for remaining absent from work for a prolonged period without official approval.
The dismissed teacher was identified as Professor Sipon Miah, a teacher of the Information and Communication Technology department of the university.
The decision was taken following a resolution of the university's syndicate, the highest policy-making body of the university.
According to university sources, the 274th syndicate meeting, held on June 29, decided that teachers who remained absent without approval would be dismissed if they failed to rejoin their posts within 15 working days.
