Dhaka, Aug. 8 -- Islami Andolan Bangladesh Secretary General Mawlana Gazi Ataur Rahman on Saturday warned that India's policy of providing shelter to ousted AL chief Sheikh Hasina and allowing her to maintain political communications will ultimately harm India's long-term interests.

Rahman asserted that India must bear the consequences of prioritizing a relationship with an "autocratic power" over developing ties with the people of Bangladesh. He urged the government to maintain steady pressure on India to halt Hasina's activities, according to a statement.
