Dhaka, April 19 -- The High Court will conduct virtual court proceedings two days a week to help ensure energy and power savings amid the current global situation.

The virtual proceedings will be held every Wednesday and Thursday, according to a notification issued on Sunday.

The notification, signed by High Court Registrar Muhammad Nurul Amin Biplob, said the initiative has been taken in line with the Use of Information Technology by Courts Act, 2020 and the relevant practice directions issued by the court.

It added that the measure aims to reduce energy consumption while ensuring the continuation of judicial activities through digital means.
