Dhaka, Aug. 14 -- Nahid Islam, Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and Opposition Chief Whip, on Friday warned that the government would not be allowed to remain in power if it continues to fail to provide essentials like gas and electricity.

The rally, organized by NCP's Dhaka Metropolitan South unit, presented several demands, including the implementation of the public mandate, a reversal of fuel-gas price hikes, and an end to political oppression.
