Govt to generate 42.5MW electricity from Dhaka waste by 2028
, July 14 -- The government has taken an initiative to generate 42.5 megawatts (MW) of electricity by August 2028 by processing around 3,000 tonnes of waste produced daily in Dhaka, said Prime Minister's Adviser on Information and Broadcasting Dr Zahed Ur Rahman on Tuesday.
Zahed revealed this information while talking at a press briefing on the progress of various activities held at the Press Information Department (PID) conference room.
Prime Minsiter Tarique Rahman recently chaired a meeting on two waste-to-energy projects involving Aminbazar under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Matuail under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Sunday, held at the Secretariat.
