Dhaka, June 1 -- State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku on Monday said the government will take necessary steps to expand milk production in Bangladesh, aiming to reduce import dependency and eventually achieve the capacity to export dairy products.

Speaking at a discussion organised at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) on the occasion of World Milk Day 2026, he said employment opportunities for women in dairy farms will be ensured to boost milk production.
