Sangsad Bhaban, June 22 -- Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon on Monday said the government has undertaken a series of initiatives to transform the country's information and broadcasting sector into a modern, technology-driven and internationally competitive industry.

"The government is implementing various activities to make the country's information and broadcasting sector modern, technology-based and internationally standard," he said in Parliament while replying to a starred tabled question from BNP lawmaker Rafiqul Islam Hilali (Netrakona-3) in the Jatiya Sangsad today.
