Sangsad Bhaban, June 22 -- The government has undertaken a series of nationwide initiatives to prevent rumours and misinformation spread through online media and social networking platforms, said Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon in Parliament on Monday.

Replying to a tabled question from ruling party lawmaker Md. Abdul Mannan (Brahmanbaria-5) in the House, the minister outlined several measures being implemented to combat disinformation and promote responsible use of digital platforms.
