Govt steps up efforts to ease gas crisis, expand solar power: Energy Minister
Dhaka, Aug. 11 -- Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood on Tuesday said the government is working on multiple fronts to address the ongoing gas crisis and ensure a more reliable energy supply for industries.
He said the government is particularly concerned about the impact of inadequate gas supply in industries, warning that production disruptions can severely affect businesses' cash flow and their ability to repay bank loans.
"I understand the pain of textile entrepreneurs. If there is no gas pressure despite having buyers' demand, rejection of products can have a huge impact on a businessman's cash flow," he said at a seminar in Dhaka Club.
