Govt offices, banks reopen as Eid-ul-Azha holiday ends
Dhaka, June 1 -- Government offices, banks and courts across Bangladesh reopened on Monday after the end of a seven-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday.
Besides, many private-sector offices also resumed operations, prompting thousands of people to return to their workplaces in Dhaka and other cities after spending the holiday with their families.
Government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous and private offices remained closed from May 25 to May 31.

Many employees extended their vacations by taking additional leave beyond the official holiday period. As a result, a festive holiday atmosphere is likely to persist in many workplaces for the next couple of days.
