Sangsad Bhaban, April 8 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday said the government is considering nationalising one women's college in each upazila as part of its efforts to expand women's education and ensure their empowerment and equal access to education.

"The present government is firmly committed to expanding women's education and ensuring women's empowerment and equal opportunities in education," he said while replying to a tabled question from MP Ikramul Bari Tipu (Naogaon-4) during the question-answer session in Parliament.

Tarique said special importance is being given to expanding women's education in large and important upazilas like Naogaon's Manda upazila.
